As recently reported, research by Rick Tyrrell, a psychology professor at Clemson University, the human brain recognizes cyclists wearing fluorescent leg coverings three times farther away than cyclists wearing black leggings and a florescent jersey. The research also found a flashing taillight is significantly more conspicuous than a constant light.
